When Jake’s long absent father, Leif, finally returns home, Jake assumes he needs money. To his surprise, his father plans to bring Jake to the old family cabin in Algonquin Park to co-write his comeback adventure travel book. Jake grudgingly agrees to go with him, though the plan goes off course when his father suddenly dies at the cabin. After his father’s death, in his attempt to find closure, Jake decides to carry on with the unfinished book. Upon revisiting the cottage, Jake is thrust into a grandiose Leif-type adventure, revealing many surprises from his father’s second life.
