A LONER (DA XUE DONG ZHI) (CHI)

Wei Daxue, 73 years old, lives alone in a courtyard in Beijng. Her daughter works outside and only occasionally calls. Her dog Dongzi has accompanied her for many years. One day, her tenant leaves, an old neighbour passes away, the dog gets lost. All these coincidences breakdown Wei’s life. She recalls the suicide of her husband and her painful memories. After fears, pains, struggles and relief, Wei finally gets over it. But the truth just comes out…

A PAPER MARRIAGE (CHI)

In order to sell his house, Feng Wang, an associate university professor in Shanghai, is forced to enter a fake marriage with Zi Ye, a recent college graduate. Zi Ye and her boyfriend want to buy a house in Shanghai, but are not qualified to do so. In the process, Feng and Zi have to live together. The pressure around them actually brings them closer. They will find a home in each other, where their souls feel a sense of belonging.

The Yellow River side of a remote village is closed after the release from prison of Wei Weiliang. In order to save his father's life, Wei De-liang had to be forced to intervene in his father's fishing work. Two men in years of hardships, and in the depths of both of them, but hidden in the secret .

To pay off their family debt, Tracy’s husband, Dewy, was ambushed by bandits on his caravan route and was presumed to be killed. Wayne helped Tracy settle the debt. Dewy escapes from the deadly ambush and returns home only to find that her wife married the saviour.

CRESTED IBIS (YUAN SHANG) (CHI)
Qiao Liang; Chine; 107 min; chinois s.t.a.
The story begins with Vince Kang, a reporter in Beijing, having to go back to his hometown to report a crested ibis, one of the national treasures found unexpectedly. During the process of pursuit and hide of the crested ibis, everyone’s interest is revealed and the scars, both mental and physical, are ripped up. In addition, the environment pollution, an aftermath from China’s development patterns, is brought into daylight.
 
DESPERATE (PIN LE) (CHI)

In the 1930s, Su Honger’s husband and son were killed by bandits. She begged for revenge from warriors all around, but all of the brave warriors got killed. Helplessly, Su Honger conducted the revenge alone and was threatened by growing crises, and finally became a real gunner.
 
PLEASE REMEMBER ME (CHI)
Peng Xiao Lian; Chine; 96 min; chinois s.t.a.
This is a story about love and dreams. The traditional Chinese opera actress Cai Yun, who moves from a small town to Shanghai, is dreaming of becoming a movie star. A Wei tries to become a cameraman, and follows religiously Pan, a director who’s not interested in making commercial films. Will they find love, will they achieve their dreams?
 
THE AMBER (CHI)
Chen Peng'ao; Chine; 96 min; chinois s.t.a.
In a village of China in 1985, 18-year-old Mazha worked at an illegal coal mine, where he met Lan Xiang who is eager to have a child but her husband, Tian Liang, is incapable to conceive due to an accident. In exchange for money for her husband’s operation, Lan Xiang agrees to have sex with the mine leader. When Tian Liang finds out, he plans to kill the mine leader for revenge.
 
THE BLOOD HOUND (XUE LANG QUAN) (CHI)
Jianhua Liu; Chine; 95 min; chinois s.t.a.
Lao Zhu is a forest ranger stationed at Tianshan Mountains in Western China. One day while protecting rare local wolves, his actions lead to the imprisonment of a colleague, Zhang Biao, for illegal poaching. When Zhang Biao is released, he embarks on a vendetta against Lao Zhu and his family.
 

TO KILL A WATERMELON (SHA GUA) (CHI)
Gao Zehao; Chine; 87 min; Chinois s.t.a.
One hot summer day, a pedestrian, his wife, a village head, a murderer, an official of the county, and a policeman took turns showing up at the main character Chen’s melon shed. For the first time in his life, this quiet and obedient man realizes the meaning of his own existence. This is the story a man at the bottom of the society, and the awakening of his need to fight back in life.
