CATALUNYA UBER ALLES!
Three views of immigration in contemporary Catalonia. In the first tale, an ex-convict returns home after serving time for rape, but discovers that he is shunned by neighbours, and the local gangs endeavour to destroy any chance for reconciliation with his former girlfriend. The second tale follows the experiences of a Senegalese immigrant who lands a job as a debt collector based solely on the colour of his skin; he is ordered to humiliate a rightwing, anti-immigrant politician into paying up. In the final story, a businessman becomes a media celebrity after killing an immigrant caught burglarizing his home, but finds his celebrated public image irreparably damaged following a scandalous revelation.
Ramon T�rmens
Born in Bellmunt de Segarra, Spain in 1974, Ramon T�rmens graduated in philosophy from Barcelona University before enrolling in direction at the Catalonian Film Academy. He co-wrote and co-directed YOUTH in 2004, winner of three Gaudi awards, and followed that in 2009 with a solo effort, NEGRO BUENOS AIRES. He co-wrote Carles Torras' TRASH (2009) and in 2010 co-founded Segarra Films with Victor H. Torner.
