Synopsis
Minamisanriku, Japan, was devastated by the tsunami of March 11, 2011, with most buildings destroyed by waves of 16 metres or higher, and over half the town's population swept away or drowned. With 90% of the town gone, there's no "home" there anymore for former residents Kyoko and Shuichi. For psychological reasons as well: left behind were a mother and a child. What does the future hold for the living?
Director
Born in Aichi, Japan in 1950, Eiji Okuda began his career as an actor then made his directorial debut in 2001 with SHOJO (winner of the Grand Prix at the Paris Film Festival). He followed that with RUNIN: BANISHED (2004), A LONG WALK, winner of the Grand Prix of the Americas at the 2006 Montreal Film Festival, and BEAT (2011). He produced Claude Gagnon's KAMATAKI (MWFF winner in 2005).
