Synopsis

Juliette not really sure about coming to live in this residential suburb of the Paris. All the women here are in their forties, have children to raise, houses to keep and husbands who return home late at night. Today she has an appointment in Paris that is important for her career, but she also has to run errands and pick up the kids from school. During the course of her day, monopolized by petty, everyday tasks, Juliette can feel the noose of domestic obligations and household chores slowly tightening around her neck.

 

Director

Born in Paris in 1962, Isabelle Czajka graduated from the Louis Lumière College and began her directing career in 2003 with a short, La cible. Her debut feature, THE NEXT YEAR (2006), won the prize for best first film at the Locarno Festival. She followed that with another short, Un bébé tout neuf (2007), and LIVING ON LOVE ALONE, shown at the MWFF in 2010.
