Synopsis
The story of a family forced out of their village in the name of development. Through them, it highlights the plight of people in the aftermath of displacement for projects in the mineral-rich eastern region of India. "Though the eastern states possess 90% of the coal, iron ore, manganese and bauxite deposits, people in the region are among the poorest and are getting poorer. Director
Indian filmmaker Satyabrata Dwibedy took his law degree at university before embarking on a career in theatre, writing and directing plays on contemporary social issues. He founded an independent production house for TV dramas, news and current affairs, health and cultural magazines. HOME LAND marks his directorial debut in features.
