The Montreal International Film, TV and Video Market
The Montreal International Film, TV and
Video Market will be held from August 25 to September 4, 2000 as part of the
World Film Festival. The Market Office will be located at the Salon Jeanne-Mance
of the Wyndham Hotel in the Complexe Desjardins.
The Market is at once a meeting place and a
business centre that attracts over a thousand television and film professionals
from around the world. The European Film Promotion, an umbrella association of
nineteen promotion, funding and export organizations, representing 18 countries,
will attend the Market. The MECLA (Mercado del Cine Latino americano) will
participate with organizations and producers from seven South American
countries.
As reported by the trade magazines and
confirmed by many professionnals, the World Film Festival and its Market are
unique. No other event in North America offers such a wide selection of quality
films.
With over four hundred films screened
every year at the Festival and more than 700 hundred titles at the Market Video
Library, the Montreal Film Market is a buyer's paradise. In recentt years,
almost every foreign film that was succesful in America had its North American
premiere in Montreal.
The Market also features a Symposium
dealing with important - and often controversial - industry related topics.
Panelists include high profile executives from some of the most successful
companies in their fields.
The Montreal International Film, TV, and
Video Market is a must attend event for anyone involved in the film
industry.
