Maryanne is a young woman who has been teased all her life. Overweight, she has always lacked the confidence to pursue her dreams. That is until she meets Fran, a confident, queen-size party girl who convinces her that attitude is the key. After joining her sex-toy company co-workers in a bet to see who can land a date with Ted, the hot new Up and Coming catalogue designer, Maryanne visits a nightclub that caters to overweight women and finds herself meeting, and falling for, Barry, a dashing Brit who sweeps her off her feet. But there are secrets. Learning that Barry is married and the owner of Big Girls, a strip bar featuring plus sized exotic dancers, she confronts him on his own turf in a triumphant show of confidence. Now heartbroken and back to work, Maryanne feels she has to start all over again...
