The chronicle of an old couple living their last days together. Two people who stayed together in the strange bond of love and interdependency, even through the storms of history, even in cruel times and when values had little worth. Can they say goodbye in dignity? How lost we are and how defenceless when facing the unknown. The long-married couple understand each other without much verbal communication. The wife makes her husband tea before they go for a walk in the park. They visit a caf, sit for a while on a bench and then head for home. But frail health interrupts their plans. A deceptively simple, emotionally enriching picture about the last day in the life of an elderly man... employs a particularly strong cast of fine Hungarian actors to tell a universal story... Gentle, poetic film, with... beautifully framed and lit images. -- David Stratton (Variety)
