It's five minutes to midnight on New Year's Eve and three young men are rushing to a party. They are in a speeding car, screaming and fighting, driving faster and faster. Then suddenly, looming in front of them, are flashing lights. The road is blocked... In the split second left to react, Rainier, Duco and Jeroen look back on the absurd circumstances that have led them to this pass. They reflect on the paths their lives have taken and try to figure out where they strayed. Duco, the perfect son of a rich industrialist, is a successful young doctor. There's only one problem: he's gay and he's been hiding it from his parents. When he meets Rainier he knows his life will never be the same. He invites him to move in with him. For several months they live in a state of unrequited love. Then Rainier meets Jeroen, unconscious but still alive after a failed suicide. Rainier decides to take him home. Jeroen quickly picks up on the inevitable strains in the relationship between Rainier and Duco and decides to use them to his advantage. He acts as a wedge between the two, intensifying their anxieties on the eve of a New Year, bringing their tensions to a climax as the old year ticks away. For the three young men, the last chance make peace with themselves has arrived...

Dana Nechushtan
Born in 1970, Dana Nechustan studied screenwriting and directing at the Dutch Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam. Her filmography includes: In Cold Atmosphere (1991), The Glory of Java (1992), The Whore of Babylon (1993), Djinn (1994), 20 Plus (TV series, 1996), Labyrint (TV series, 1997) and IVORY WATCHMEN (1999).
