In a village in the mountains -- to which Kiarostami returned for two more films in this unplanned trilogy -- Mohammad is taken to task by his teacher for neglecting to do his homework in the proper notebook. He will be expelled if it happens one more time. When his friend Ahmad returns from school to begin his homework he quickly realizes that he took Mohammad's notebook by mistake. To spare his friend from being expelled, Ahmad escapes his mother's eagle eye and sets out for the neighbouring village to return the notebook. En route he remembers that he doesn't know where his friend lives... |
