Berlin is cold and big. Ellen, 30, just released after serving five years in prison, is haunted by a violent past. She has to find her former girlfriend Katrin and get on with her life. Ellen and Katrin were together that fateful night in Ellen's house by the lake when Katrin's abusive husband was found dead, a night that changed their lives forever. Katrin would like to see Ellen but the latter isn't very keen on seeing her. One day Ellen recognizes Katrin's voice on the radio and goes to the club where Katrin is doing her show. She sees Katrin leaving and follows her through town. As they stand face to face, Katrin feels threatened by Ellen and asks to be left alone. Ellen goes back to the house by the lake. As she gets there, the memories of the violent night catch up with her. An exceptional performance by Katherine Eichhorn... provides dramatic underpinning to this atmospheric debut by Norwegian writer-director Anne H�egh Krohn. -- Derek Elley (Variety) |

Anne H�egh Krohn Born in Oslo, Noway in 1966, Anne H�egh Krohn studied philosophy and cultural history at the University of Oslo. She graduated from the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin in 1999.
