Pirates. Treasure. Good and and evil. Like in a children's fairy tale. And the story itself is the treasure. A young man with a pure heart, a free spirit, confronted by society's pressure to work hard and get rich. A group of blind children who attempt to open the eyes of the non-believers to the Christian religion. A brothel of ex-nuns, established because of the need to pay the rent on the convent. All of these paradoxes, with a certain dose of irony, combine to transform this children's tale into a philosophical fable. Strange physical anomalies, purses always filled with money, indecipherable manuscripts, invisible cities, shady guards -- all the elements necessary for this sort of story, intercut with theological and philosophical discussions that reinforce the mysterious atmosphere and heighten the suspense...
