For promising photographer Dennis, his friends -- exasperating as they are -- are the ones who make gay life bearable. Or are they really? As he prepares to celebrate his twenty-eight birthday, and keeps an eye out for Mr. Right, Dennis can't decide whether his friends are the best or worst thing that ever happened to me. The gang includes Cole, the hunky actor who keeps stealing everyone's guy, Patrick the sly cynic, Howie the psychology graduate student who can't see beyond his books, punkish Benji who's into gym bodies, Taylor, who, until recently, was proud to be the only one sustaining a long-term relationship, and Jack, the gossipy den mother to the bunch whose restaurant-bar is where most of the characters work and bring their dates. But as the guys bicker among themselves, however, they begin to realize the need for a little space among close friends. Slowly they grow to depend less on each other. When tragedy strikes, however, the group finds comfort the only way they ever have -- together. |
