Rio de Janeiro native Silvio Proença, 45, is on his way to São Paolo, where his new book on floklore is to be launched. He would rather be with his beautiful young wife Marina, but he's making the trip at the insistence of his publisher, Mendança. Silvio is a great fan of Brazilian music and at the airport, when he hears a "chorinho" from afar, he immediately sets off to find its source. Just then he runs into a group of old friends who are taking the same flight. Among them is Marialva, the beautiful young niece of the group's "bandolinista". A summer squall delays the flight and the meeting evolves into a party lubricated by good cheer and beer. When the flight finally gets cancelled, the group of merrymakers, Silvio included, move their party to Marialva's apartment. Charmed by the music and by the hostess, Silvio stays late. So late, in fact, that he wakes up the next morning naked in Marialva's bed. His head still in a fog, Silvio tries to reconstruct the events of the previous night, how exactly he got into this situation. As he is a creature of habit, Silvio opens the apartment door to collect the bread delivered each morning. The corridor is empty. No people, no bread. Just then a gust of wind blows the apartment door shut. Silvio is stuck in the hallway without a stich of clothing. When the neighbours begin opening their own doors, Silvio panics and rushes out into the street. Which only aggravates his predicament. People stare, people glare accusingly. Word spreads quickly that a pervert is prowling the streets. Others are convinced he's some sort of terrorist. The police and TV stations are called. Silvio desperately tries to find his way home... |
