Ten-year-old Manu is sent to a town on the Mediterranean while his quarrelling parents settle their differences. There, Manu meets his aunts and uncles, a bunch of loveable eccentrics with very different careers in life. One is a tailor, another is a doctor who specializes in iridology and a third operates a bakery on the ground floor of the family house. But above all there is his cousin Fuensanta... Manu soon discovers how appearances are deceptive. The familial order conceals all sorts of strange behaviour. Before a few weeks have passed Manu will discover the complexities, traumas and joys of adult life.
