Until now, Sawaki, a postman, has lived a quiet, even boring life. One day, making his daily rounds, he runs into Noguchi, an old friend who has become a drug dealer on the lam from the police. Now Sawaki's life has been turned upside down. First, Noguchi sneaks a package of drugs into Sawaki's bag and Noguchi's finger, which he had severed in "yakuza" (Japanese gangster) tradition to atone for a botched job, also falls into the mailbag. That evening, Sawaki starts opening the letters he was supposed to deliver.
