Eddie and Maureen are young, married and crazy about each other. They live day to day, fight to fight, dance to dance, drink to drink. No two people ever lived so hard or loved so much. When a neighbour attacks Maureen, who's expecting his first child, Eddie snaps. Committed to a mental institution, he trusts Maureen when she tells him: "You'll be out of here in three months. Ten years later, when he finally returns, he discovers that, in his absence, his wife has gotten remarried to Joey, a man who loves Maureen as much as Eddie does. His child is now nine and she has two other daughters by Joey. Now Maureen is caught in the middle, between the past and the present, between an inexplicable passion and an abiding love, between two men who are absolutely sure of one thing... SHE'S SO LOVELY.

"A time-capsule revival of John Cassavetes' style as directed by his son..." -- Janet Malin (New York Times)

"John gave (the script) to me and I fell in love with it; mad love at first read. We worked together on it for over a year, before he died (in 1989)... Reading it (again) as filmmaker was something else entirely." -- Nick Cassavetes
