Eve and Julian, Ellen and Jack, Fi and Michael, Liz and Hal, and Sydney with her constant parade of boyfriends, are a group of twenty-something friends who after many years of close comradeship feel as safe and secure as possible. One drunken night a new idea is broached to take their relationship a step further: partner swapping. At first it's nothing but good dirty fun; they think they can handle it. But by the time they realize they're wrong, that the physical side of love has a profound effect on the emotional side as well, it's too late. Their relationships are transformed forever. Fi's disillusionment has an irreversible impact on Michael; Julian's behaviour so alienates Eve that she seeks attention elsewhere; Sydney's latest boyfriend Sam turns out to be an old flame of Ellen's which, in turn, threaten's Ellen's marriage with Jack; and Hal's hidden jealousy will lead to an act that threatens the entire future of the "crowd". |
