This is the story of a brother and a sister. They live with their single mother in a modest flat in Arcueil, a Paris suburb. Loïc takes the train. He wants to get to Paris. The quicker the better. Thanks to his fashion and art photography he looks like he may soon be getting his wish. Sophie doesn't really know what she wants but she's sure there's got to be something. Hanging around with her older brother she finds it. It's Vincent, a well-connected friend of Loïc's. But when Vincent responds to Sophie's interest, Loïc's fraternal instincts are aroused. There's also Tony, another of Loïc's friends, who is hooked on drugs and appears to have inherited Loïc's former girlfriend Virginie. Tony and Virginie seem embarked on a tempestuous relationship. And so are they all -- with love, with fortune, with life itself. "I wanted to try to describe some of the mystery of people in distress who are driven by an inner strength to get up, move on, no matter what happens... This is the story of two people who are alike in that they are searching for a place to exist, somewhere, elsewhere. People who, even if they stray, even if they make a mistake, even if it'll kill them, never give up, but live to the fullest. I wanted to capture the moment that determines the rest of their lives. Seize that instant of risk, instability, excess, urgency and doubt, which leaves them no time to catch their breath." -- Sylvie Verheyde
