This film investigates the parallels and connections between the oppression of Canada's native peoples and the conditions faced by black South Africans. For more than a century, Canada and South Africa have had an ongoing, politically charged relationship over "native" policy. At different times, for divergent motives, this relationship has served the purpose of South African racists, Indian Affairs bureaucrats and right-wing Canadians opposed to native rights and First Nations' leaders. This film documents the links between the two countries in their treatment of their respective minorities and explores the possibilities for political change in both Canada and South Africa today.
