Dir.: Tom Tykwer Born in Wuppertal, Germany in 1965, Tom Tykwer began making short films in Super 8 in 1976 and switched to 16 mm in 1982. Since 1979 Tykwer has been involved with repertory cinemas and he became manager of Berlin's Moviemento theatre in 1988. His eclectic interest in the cinema has included reading scripts for several German production companies and, since 1990, to directing programs on cinema for Berlin television. His first feature, DEADLY MARIA (1993), was shown at the Montreal World Film Festival. |
