Dir.: Miklós Jancsó, József Böjte One of Hungary's best known directors, Miklós Jancsó was born in
Vac in 1921. After graduating from the Budapest Academy of Film
and Drama in 1950, he began making newsreels and short
documentaries. He directed his first feature, THE BELLS HAVE GONE
TO ROME, in 1958 and he has since made over two dozen more,
including: CANTATA (1963), THE ROUND-UP (1965), RED PSALM (1972),
ELECTRA (1974), HUNGARIAN RHAPSODY (1978), THE DAWN (1986) and
THE BLUE DANUBE WALTZ (1991).
