What could have happened? The city begins to work its magic. Laura is "called" in many directions and by many voices. In Montevideo the air is combustible. Laura begins asking questions but the answers she gets are useless, irrelevant or self-serving. Intimidation, seduction, deceit. Laura gets to know three men: O'Nety, Ñato and Aquilino. Ñato resembles Colossus and she begins to fall in love with him. She is wary with Aquilino and O'Nety. Especially the latter. What could he really want with his idea of having her sing at the Teatro Solis? Whenever Laura is on the verge of mourning the death of her love, her singing revives it...
