In 1972, at the age of 13, Stuart Urban's short film "The Virus of War" was shown at the Cannes Festival and he has been active in British film and television ever since. Among his more recent credits are "An Ungentlemanly Act" for BBC television (it won the British Academy Award for Best Drama in 1993), "Our Friends in the North" (1995, also for the BBC), and the script for DEADLY VOYAGE (for the BBC and Home Box Office). PREACHING TO THE PERVERTED marks his directorial debut in fiction features.

The moral crusaders in the British Parliament (the United Front Opposing Filth) have recruited Peter Emery to infiltrate the fetish clubs operating around the country in order to gather evidence for a private prosecution. An innocent lad who works for the Holy Hardware Company (motto: "Log On to the Lord"), Peter isn't really cut out for the job. He's truly shocked by what he sees in the clubs. There are provocative girls in these places and some of them are doing wicked things! But Peter keeps to his task and Henry Harding, the Member of Parliament for whom he is gathering the incriminatory evidence, is delighted with his work. Trouble is, Peter gets a bit too involved. Especially with Tanya Cheex, a sex goddess from New York who is the mistress of a particularly bold establishment called The House of Thwax. Peter becomes infatuated with Tanya and would dearly love to have a conventional relationship with her. But while he tries to convert her to his way of life, Tanya works to pervert him to hers.
