SAINTE CLARA

Au grand étonnement de leur professeur, les vingt-quatre élèves d'une classe de collège ont tous rendu leur devoir de mathématiques sans la moindre erreur. Il les soupçonne évidemment d'avoir copié et mène sa petite enquête. Et il tire l'affaire au clair: Clara, une brillante élève originaire de Russie et qui est nouvelle dans la classe, prétend que les données du problème lui sont tout simplement passées par la tête la veille du devoir. Tikel, le meneur de classe, et son ami Rosenthal, mettent alors au point un projet utilisant le don de seconde vue de Clara, dans le but de révolutionner le système scolaire. Toutefois, comme ils sont tous les deux secrètement tombés amoureux de la jeune fille, une violente dispute éclate entre eux. Ils se battent pour les beaux yeux de Clara et comme Tikel est vaincu, Rosenthal peut se promener le soir avec sa "bien-aimée" et lui offrir des friandises. En classe, ce sera maintenant lui le chef. Le lendemain matin, il accompagne fièrement Clara jusqu'à sa place, avec Tikel dans son sillage. Clara reçoit cependant un message télépathique lui disant que Rosenthal n'est pas assez bien pour elle. Alors, elle se remet avec Tikel. Comme ils ignorent encore tous les deux comment donner libre cours à leurs sentiments, ils décident d'un commun accord, pour remédier à leur embarras, que quelque chose de vraiment extraordinaire doit se passer... Mais souvent, la réalité peut dépasser la fiction... 		SAINT CLARA

To the surprise of their teacher, all 24 seventh grade pupils have submitted a perfect test in mathematics. Naturally the teacher suspects cheating and he begins to investigate. What he finds surprises him even more. The answers come from Clara, a stunningly intelligent young immigrant from Russia who is new to the class and who claims that all the test questions came to her suddenly the night before. Tikel, the class leader, and his friend Rosenthal develop a plan to revolutionize schoolwork with the help of Clara's clairvoyant capabilities. But the two boys secretly fall in love with Clara and have a terrible row which leads to a fight. When Tikel loses, Rosenthal courts Clara by talking her on a walk and offering her candy. Now Rosenthal is the classroom boss. The next morning he proudly leads Clara to her seat, Tikel following behind like a puppy. But Clara receives another telepathic message, this one telling her that Rosenthal isn't the right boy for her after all. Tikel and Rosenthal are at an impasse. The only thing they can agree on is that something extraordinary has to happen... And it does, but not quite in the way anyone expects.
Né en 1962 à Varsovie, en Pologne, Ari Fulman vit en Israël depuis 1963. Il se spécialise dans le documentaire. Avant CLARA HAKADUSHA, sa première coréalisation long métrage de fiction, il coréalise avec le même Ori Sivan COMFORTABLY NUMB (1991), son premier documentaire.Né en 1963 à San Francisco, en Californie, Ori Sivan vit en Israël depuis 1964. Il étudie le cinéma et réalise des documentaires, plus particulièrement pour la télévision. Avant CLARA HAKADUSHA, sa première coréalisation long métrage de fiction, il coréalise avec Ari Fulman COMFORTABLY NUMB (1991) son premier documentaire.
Born in Warsaw, Poland in 1962, Ari Fulman emigrated with his family to Israel in 1963. He has made television documentaries and co-directed a children's TV series in 1992. In 1991 he co-directed the documentary, COMFORTABLY NUMB with Ori Sivan.@signature:Ori SivanBorn in San Francisco in 1963, Ori Sivan moved to Israel the following year. He studied film in Tel Aviv and has made several documentaries, mainly for Israeli television. Sivan lectures in cinema at Negev University.
