À vingt ans, Cora est d'un tempérament impulsif et rebelle. Elle vit à Rome, seule, sans domicile fixe ni lien affectif stable. Elle mène une existence simple faite de petits boulots précaires. Elle dort où elle peut. Un jour, la propriétaire du chien que Cora promène lui demande de s'occuper de son père Cosimo qui souffre de troubles de la mémoire. Lorsqu'il sort de chez lui, il ne retrouve plus le chemin du retour et refuse toute assistance. Cora accepte de le suivre. Les premiers jours, la filature se passe sans difficulté majeure. Mais un matin, Cosimo se rend à la gare et monte dans un train. Inquiète, Cora prévient sa fille qui la supplie de le suivre. Commence alors un étrange voyage dont la destination est inconnue. | TRAVELLING COMPANION
Cora is an impulsive and rebellious young woman of twenty. She is homeless, lives in Rome and has no stable relationships. She takes on small jobs and sleeps wherever she can. One day, the woman whose dog she walks, asks Cora to take care of her father who is losing his memory. When he leaves his house, he cannot find his way home. He refuses any help, so Cora accepts to follow him. The first few days, she "shadows" him without difficulty. One morning, however, Cosimo goes to the train station and gets on a train. Cora is worried and warns his daughter who begs the girl to follow him. A strange journey begins, destination unknown. |
| Né le 29 juillet 1943 à San Francisco, Peter Del Monte est licencié de l'Université de Rome avec une thèse sur l'esthétique cinématographique. Il a étudié la mise en scène sous la direction de Roberto Rossellini au Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia de Rome avant de réaliser IRÈNE, IRÈNE (1975), L'AUTRE FEMME (1980), PISO PISELLO (1981), INVITATION AU VOYAGE (1982), PICCOLI FUOCHI (1985), JULIA AND JULIA (1987), ÉTOILE (1988) et TRACCE DI VITA AMOROSA (1990).
| Born in San Francisco in 1943 to Italian parents, Peter Del Monte studied film aesthetics at the University of Rome and direction at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia under the supervision of Roberto Rosselini.
