Après avoir exercé le métier de policier à Stockholm pendant de nombreuses années, Erik décide de retourner dans son village natal, au Norrland, dans la partie septentrionale de la Suède. Ses amis l'accueillent en triomphe comme un véritable héros. Et pourtant, durant cette longue absence, beaucoup de choses ont changé au village. À tel point que le style fruste et l'attitude réfractaire d'Erik ne plaisent pas à la majorité des gens de la petite localité, jusqu'ici habitués à un régime sans lois. Quand le policier commence à enquêter sur une affaire louche impliquant des chasseurs, la violence éclate. Et brusquement il n'est plus le grand homme qu'on pensait, mais plutôt l'intrus, l'étranger, l'ennemi, celui en qui personne n'a confiance. À partir de ce moment, même pour un policier aux méthodes dures, le Norrland devient un endroit dangereux. | THE HUNTERS
Erik has worked as a policeman in Stockholm for many years. After a brutal murder Erik decides to change scenery and move back to his hometown in Norrland, in the north of Sweden. Here he is greeted as a hero by his old friends. However, as he soon learns, much has changed during the years Erik has been away and his tough, big-city police attitude is not welcome in a community that is to some extent governed by unwritten laws. When Erik begins to investigate a local hunting scam, violent and uncontrollable forces are suddenly unleashed. Erik, whom everyone had considered a hero, is now their enemy and the small town in Norrland is now a dangerous place for him to be. |
| Né en 1953, Kjell Sundvall a été élevé à Älvsbyn, un petit village situé au nord de la Suède, au même endroit où LES CHASSEURS a été tourné. Après avoir collaboré à une station de radio étudiante, il suit des cours de réalisation à l'Institut d'art dramatique de Stockholm, et travaille ensuite à la télévision, réalisant des courts et des longs métrages, des documentaires et des téléséries telles que "Lorry", dont il est un des créateurs. Ses longs métrages sont: VI HADE I ALLA FALL TUR MED VÄDRET, JACKPOT, ROSENBAUM et SNOKEN (pour la télévision); LYCKANS OST et I LAGENS NAMN (pour le cinéma).
| Born in Älvsbyn, Sweden (where THE HUNTERS was shot) in 1953, Kjell Sundvall worked for a youth radio station in Luleå after high school. In 1974 he enrolled in the Stockholm Dramatic Institute from which he graduated in directing in 1977. He began working for Swedish Television in various capacities and has directed shorts, documentaries and dramas as well as the popular comedy series "Lorry", of which he was one of the creators. His feature credits include VI HADE I ALLA FALL TUR MED VÄDRET, JACKPOT, ROSENBAUM and SNOKEN for television and LYCKANS OST and I LAGENS NAMN for the cinema.
