Dans un château du Moyen Âge, un artiste crée un gigantesque monument à la gloire du roi. Il s'agit d'un cheval sans ventre. Et tout d'un coup, comme par enchantement, le monarque meurt. Son épouse et l'artiste sont les seuls à savoir ce qui est arrivé au vieux souverain. La reine a néanmoins l'intention de garder le secret bien gardé, au moins jusqu'à ce que le corps de son défunt mari soit transformé en os. Entre-temps, l'artiste a quitté le pays, la femme qu'il aime vient de passer de vie à trépas... et la foule, ignorant ce qui se passe, continue d'acclamer le roi. Le temps s'écoule, et depuis qu'elle gouverne sur le royaume, la reine est devenue une personne aigrie et grotesque. Elle mange de plus en plus, sa part et celle de son "regretté" mari... | NECROLOGY
In a castle in the Middle Ages, an artist has created a huge monument to the glory of the King. The monument is a horse without a belly. Suddenly the King dies. The Queen and the artist are the only people who know what has happened to the King and the Queen decides to keep the fact secret. The artist leaves the country, but even though the King's corpse has turned into a skeleton on the throne, the Queen allows no hint of his fate to escape the castle. As the King's subjects unknowingly continue to cheer their deceased monarch, the Queen becomes a tragic and grotesque figure, eating her own food and that of her late husband... |
| Né en 1959 à Tirana (Albanie), Fatmir Koçi étudie à l'Académie des beaux-arts et à l'École de cinéma de la même ville. Sa filmographie comprend: "Nej I Trete" (1990) et "Lumi Qe Nuk Shteron" (1991). Avec NÉCROLOGIE, il signe son premier long métrage de fiction.
| Born in Tirana, Albania in 1959, Fatmir Koçi studied at the Tirana Academy of Fine Arts and the Tirana Film School, from which he graduated in 1989. Koçi directed two short films - "Unknown" (1990) and "Ballad of Bullets" (1991) - before making his feature debut with NECROLOGY.
