Un samedi soir, au lieu de se disputer, Jim, Ted et Lee-Ann choisissent de faire un tour en voiture. Lee-Ann est la petite copine de Ted, au grand dam de Jim qui voit la présence de la jeune femme comme une intrusion à son amitié avec Ted. Lorsque les trois amis s'arrêtent chez un marchand de vins et spiritueux, ils sont attaqués par Jake, un ex-bagnard aux allures agressives qui jette son dévolu sur la voiture de Jim pour s'évader. Sous la menace du pistolet, Jim est forcé de prendre la direction d'une autoroute menant vers une destination inconnue... | THE DRIVE
Jim, Ted and Lee-Ann are driving around town on a Saturday night looking for something to do besides argue. Lee-Ann is Ted's girlfriend and Jim resents her intrusion into his friendship with Ted. Ted attempts to mediate in the dispute but he doesn't appear to be succeeding. Their troubles are only beginning. Stopped at a liquor store, the three are abducted by Jake, a wild ex-convict who is looking to get out of town and has decided on Jim's car as his means of transportation. At gunpoint, Jim is forced to take the first highway leading out of town and to destinations unknown. And it's not only Jim who doesn't know where they're heading; Jake himself has no idea. Getting there is not going to be any fun at all. |
| Né en Belgique, en 1966, Romy Goulem a étudié le cinéma à la Ryerson Polytechnical University, à Toronto, entre 1984 et 1988. Par la suite, il travaille en tant que monteur, caméraman, producteur et réalisateur sur plusieurs courts métrages, vidéoclips et spots publicitaires pour la télévision. Avec THE DRIVE, il signe son premier long métrage de fiction.
| Born in Belgium in 1966, Romy Goulem studied film at Ryerson Polytechnical University in Toronto 1984-88 and has worked on numerous shorts, music videos and TV commercials as editor, cameraman, producer and director. THE DRIVE marks his directorial debut in features.
