LA SECONDE FOIS

Alberto Sajevo rencontre par hasard Lisa Venturi, la femme qui a essayé de l'assassiner lors d'un attentat, douze ans plus tôt. Il la reconnaît immédiatement. Elle, au contraire, fait abstraction de cette partie de son passé et prend Alberto pour un admirateur. Ils finissent par se fréquenter. Lisa prétend être une secrétaire ordinaire. Alberto fait semblant de la croire alors qu'il sait qu'elle retourne en prison tous les soirs où elle purge une peine de trente ans. Petit à petit s'instaure entre eux un jeu de cruauté psychologique au travers duquel Alberto tente de trouver une réponse à la question qui l'a torturé pendant de nombreuses années. By chance, university professor Alberto Sajevo meets Lisa Venturi, the woman who tried to kill him in a terrorist attack twelve years earlier. He recognizes her immediately. She, on the other hand, has decided to repress this part of her past and takes Alberto for an admirer. Alberto, however, can't forget; he still has a bullet lodged in his head. They begin seeing each other. Lisa pretends to be a common secretary. Alberto pretends to believe her, even though he knows that she goes back to prison every night as part of her 30-year sentence. Little by little they engage in a cruel psychological game, which Alberto uses in an attempt to find an answer to questions that have been haunting him for many years.

Avec LA SECONDA VOLTA, il signe son premier long métrage de fiction.
Born in Polistena, Italy in 1955, Mimmo Calopresti made his debut as a director in 1985 with "A proposito di sbavature" (doc., 1985), which won 1st prize at the Cinema Giovani Festival in Turin. Calopresti has since directed: "Ripresi" (1985), "Fratelli minori" (1985), "Alla Fiat era cosi" (1990), "Paolo a un lavoro" (1991), "Paco e Francesca" (1992), "Remzija" (1992), "1943 - la scelta" (doc., 1993) and "43/45 - Pace e liberta" (doc. 1993). THE SECOND TIME is his first feature.
