En 1943, dans un humble bas-fond du quartier misérable de Bùvero, à Nofi (une ville imaginée par le romancier Domenico Rea), l'éducation sentimentale de Miluzza vient de commencer. C'est une adolescente, à peine plus grande qu'une fillette. Dans un monde qui unit les malheurs de la vertu aux fortunes du vice, des pièges s'entrecroisent sur son chemin. Mais Miluzza qui n'est que vie pure, instinct naturel et candeur innocente à la dérive, les traverse tous. 		THE NYMPH

In 1943, in the slums of a small town in southern Italy, Miluzza, a beautiful, working-class girl is coming of age. Miluzza's Nofi (a town invented by novelist Domenico Rea) is located somewhere between hell and paradise lost, a town infested by the misfortunes of virtue and the fortunes of vice. But pure, instinctive, naive young Miluzza breezes through her sentimental education with the intrepidity of innocence.
Née à Rome en 1928, Lina Wetmüller a fait des études théâtrales, réalisé des feuilletons musicaux pour la télévision avant d'être engagée comme assistante de Fellini pour HUIT ET DEMI (1963). Cette même année, elle passe à la mise en scène avec I BASILISCHI. Elle réalise plusieurs longs métrages dont les plus célèbres sont: QUESTA VOLTA PARLIAMO DI UOMINI (1965), NON STUZZICATE LA ZANZARA (1967), MIMI MÉTALLO BLESSÉ DANS SON HONNEUR (1971), TUTTO IN POSTO E NIENTE IN ORDINE (1973), UN FILM D'AMOUR ET D'ANARCHIE (1973), VERS UN DESTIN INSOLITE SUR LES FLOTS BLEUS DE L'ÉTÉ (1974), PASQUALINO SETTEBELLEZE (1975), A NIGHT FULL OF RAIN (1977), D'AMOUR ET DE SANG (1978), LE DIXIÈME CLANDESTIN (tv, 1989), SABATO, DOMENICA, LUNEDI (1990) et CIAO, PROFESSORE! Born in Rome in 1928, Lina Wertmüller studied theatre and produced avant-garde plays before beginning her film career as an assistant to Fellini on 81/2 in 1963. That same year she directed her first feature, THE LIZARDS. In the '70s, her grotesque-comic treatments of political, social and sexual themes established Wetmüller as a unique voice in contemporary Italian cinema.
