Quatre jeunes hommes qui ne sont pas nécessairement faits pour s'entendre essaient quand même de former un groupe musical. Il y a d'abord Tony, chanteur et auteur-compositeur d'une timidité excessive, qui peut à peine parler de ses chansons, encore moins de les entonner en public. Il fait la connaissance de Charlie, un jeune batteur, très anxieux de nature, probablement parce qu'il n'a pas joué de la batterie depuis longtemps, et de la mère de celui-ci qui leur prépare au moins de délicieux casse-croûte. À la recherche d'un troisième membre, Tony et Charlie arrêtent leur choix sur Wynn, guitariste-vedette qui a l'air toujours défoncé. Et finalement, Eric, contrebassiste aux allures de jeune rebelle, se joint à eux. Mais ce dernier vient à peine de remettre son instrument en nantissement d'une dette qu'il devait depuis longtemps. Lorsque, finalement, le quatuor reprend la contrebasse des mains d'un trafiquant de drogue peu coriace, les quatre acolytes se sentent enfin prêts à former leur orchestre. Mais le sont-ils vraiment? Après tout, ils ne s'intéressent peut-être qu'à draguer les filles. N'ont-ils pas également besoin d'un gérant? The only thing that brought them together was the music... and the fact that they couldn't think of anything better to do. Tony is an extremely shy singer, Charlie an anxious young drummer, Wynn a perpetually stoned guitarist and Eric a feisty bass player. They hardly know each other, but here they are in the most ridiculous, volatile and tenuous of unions: a band. They are ready, but ready for what? Is their band about making music or getting girls or just something to pass the time? From garage practice to road tour, from rowdy frat houses to Mississippi clubs, four young men find themselves hurtling through an exhilarating, sometimes painful adventure that puts them on a collision course with self-discovery or self-destruction. |
| Né dans l'État de la Caroline du Nord, John Schultz a passé trois ans en Hollande et en France avant <\n>d'étudier à l'Université de la Caroline du Nord. Après des études de cinéma à l'American University, il s'installe à Los Angeles où il réalise des "Making of" promotionnels pour NBC, dont celui de JURASSIC PARK. Schultz a principalement travaillé dans le domaine de la télévision. BANDWAGON est son premier long métrage de fiction.
| North Carolina-born John Schultz spent three years in Holland and France before enrolling in the University of North Carolina, where he played the drums in a couple of bands. After some film classes at American University in Washington, Schultz moved to Los Angeles and began making promotional documentaries for Hollywood studios including an hour-long TV special on Spielberg's JURASSIC PARK. He has also directed music videos and several shorts. BANDWAGON marks his debut in features.
