Michael est cinéaste de métier. Marié, il a une petite fille de sept ans. Il est souvent absent de chez lui et de plus, sa profession lui permet d'avoir des relations extra-conjugales dont il aime profiter à l'occasion. Jusqu'à présent, la vie lui semble idyllique, jusqu'au jour ou en rentrant un peu ivre à la maison, il s'aperçoit que sa femme est au bord de la crise de nerfs. La discussion s'envenime. Irrités, les voisins alertent la police. Mais le lendemain, tout rentre dans l'ordre, comme si rien ne s'était passé la veille. Et pourtant Michael n'arrive pas à comprendre pourquoi sa femme s'est comportée de la sorte après tant d'années de vie commune. Il pense d'abord qu'il s'agit d'une crise passagère, mais d'autres détails lui font comprendre que la situation est beaucoup plus grave. Michael est convaincu que sa femme ne peut plus s'occuper de l'enfant. Tout se complique lorsque le couple aborde la question de la garde de la petite. Confronté à un système judiciaire qui ne croit qu'aux vertus maternelles, Michael est certain de sortir perdant. Il ne lui reste qu'une chose à faire: kidnapper l'enfant. | DADDY
Michael seems to have a perfect life. He's a successful filmmaker, has a devoted wife, a 7-year-old daughter and lots of opportunity to travel. Not to mention certain temptations that he occasionally gives in to. Returning home one day a bit drunk, Michael is shocked to find that his wife Eva is having what seems to be a nervous breakdown. He tries to calm her down but only succeeds in aggravating her crisis. Eva runs out of the house calling for help and shouting that her husband has beaten her. The neighbors phone the police. The next day things appear to have returned to normal but Michael cannot understand what happened to his wife. At first he thinks it might have been a temporary abberation, but he soon realizes that it isn't. Eva begins showing signs of mental illness. Friction develops over who will be responsible for the care and upbringing of Kasia, their daughter. It now dawns on Michael that this is a fight that he cannot win. Regardless whether Eva is fit or unfit, the courts will automatically side with the mother in any child custody battle. Michael decides he must take more drastic measures. |

He has written scripts for several films (RAIN, VIRUS, 13 WAGONS), worked as a cameraman on others and directed numerous videos and commercials. His filmography includes: "Prologue" (1988), "The Ball" (1990) and "Black, White" (1991). DADDY is his first feature.
