Daniel Coulombe, un jeune créateur, se voit confier par un religieux une mise en scène de la Passion qui serait offerte dans les jardins d'un sanctuaire. Interprétant lui-même le rôle de Jésus, il s'entoure de comédiens sincères qui font de leur spectacle un succès. Mais la petite troupe s'attire les foudres des autorités religieuses... A young Montreal actor, Daniel Coulombe, is hired by the priest of a local church to direct its annual Passion Play. The priest is looking for fresh ideas in its staging and Daniel is only too happy to oblige. Casting himself as Jesus, Daniel recruits an eager troupe of actors who are unsatisfied in their current jobs. Their updated staging of the play proves highly successful but it also provokes a religious controversy. It seems Daniel and his troupe have made the mistake of taking their material too literally! |
