UNE HISTOIRE INVENTÉE

Un trompettiste sur le déclin rentre à Montréal après un séjour aux États-Unis. Il reste insensible au charme de Florence qui l'aime, s'éprenant plutôt de Soledad, sa fille. Mais Soledad vient de surprendre son amoureux en flagrant délit d'infidélité. La situation se corse et les événements se précipitent lorsqu'un soir, les passions se donnent libre cours... Portrait de groupe avec petits drames, dans l'univers marginal, mais bien défini, des films habituels de leur auteur. 		UNE HISTOIRE INVENTÉE

Gaston, a trumpet player on the skids, returns to Montreal after a stay in the United States. Florence, who loves Gaston, is ecstatic about his return but Gaston is drawn instead to Soledad, Florence's actress-daughter, whom he consoles after she has discovered her boyfriend cheating on her. One night, on a lark, Gaston's friends handcuff him to Soledad just as she is about to go on stage. The audience is delighted but Florence is heartbroken as is Tibo, who co-stars opposite Soledad in the play. Their real-life drama quickly comes to a bittersweet climax.
