PARAISOS ARTIFICIAIS (ARTIFICIAL PARADISES)

Nando and Erika, two young people now in their early 20s, have met and missed one another over the years in the world of raves and electronic music festivals. Theirs is a story of maturation as experiences with family and friends have accumulated. Set in the 2000s, the film is told in three acts: the first in Amsterdam, the second a few years earlier, at a rave by the sea, and third some years after the first act, in Rio de Janeiro, where Nando has to face family problems, mainly with his younger brother, Lipe, and where, eventually, he finds Erika again.

Marcos Prado

Marcos Prado was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1961. A film producer, screenwriter and cinematographer, his photographic work has been exhibited in museums across Brazil and around the world. Previous directorial credits: Brazil's Vanishing Cowboys (2003), ESTAMIRA (doc., 2004). ARTIFICIAL PARADISES is his first fiction feature.
