BEAUTY AND THE BREAST
An intimate look into the devastating reality of breast cancer, as seen through the eyes of nine female patients. By following the patients’ spiritual transformations, we witness how their minds and personalities are affected by the experience on an emotional level. Candid and self-effacing, the women bare their souls as well as their scars. Regardless of their social status, looks or age, they resist society’s perception of feminine beauty and adapt to living with their mutilated bodies while maintaining strength, grace and pride.
Liliana Komorowska
Polish-born actress Liliana Komorowska graduated from the State Theatre Academy in Warsaw and has worked in theatre, film and TV in Poland, England, United States and Canada since 1980. She founded her own production company, Queen Art Films, in 2007. BEAUTY AND THE BREAST marks her directorial debut.
