SANTA MARADONA
College graduates Andrea and Bart are roommates in Turin whose approach to post-university life differs considerably. Andrea realizes it's time to go to work, and the constant rejections he seems to be getting -- often after an ill-considered repartee -- don't faze him; the right job for him will show up eventually. Bart, on the other hand, a lazy blabbermouth, makes no pretense of seeking work. He spends his days in his bathrobe, happily dispensing cynical opinions about everything and everyone but himself, or making plans to go out on the town with his girlfriend Lucia, an attractive Italo-Indian woman with a complicated love life of her own. Andrea's life, meanwhile, rolls on uneventfully until the day he meets Dolores, a budding actress. Their unexpected and passionate affair prompts Andrea to revise his outlook on life. Perhaps it's possible to become an adult without necessarily losing one's adolescent love of fun."Newcomer Marco Ponti's debut feature is distinguished by a witty script, sharp dialogue, visual energy, snappy packaging and one particularly fresh and enjoyable characterization." -- David Rooney (Variety)
