RANCOUR
Chelo Zamora is a singer who has come down in the world and is now working in cheap restaurants and hotels. While singing in a band at a resort restaurant on Spain's east coast, she bumps in her old lover Toni, a Cuban beach bum with a shady past who now earns his living renting skates and paddle boats. This encounter brings back memories for Chelo, most of them unpleasant. She blames Toni for making her risk -- and lose -- her blossoming career, and she is determined to make him pay. Toni is now seeing Esther, a relationship disapproved of by her policeman brother, Marcos, and Chelo is quick to make use of the opportunity. She gets Toni sacked from his job and to complicate his life ever further, she gets Natalia, mother of his son Miguel Angel, to pay him a visit at the resort. Chelo is determined to make things as hot as possible for her ex. Miguel Albaladejo
Born in Alicante, Spain in 1966, Miguel Albaladejo began his filmmaking career in 1993 with a short, Cenizas a la cenizas. He has since directed: La vida siempre es corta (1994), Sangre ciega (1995), Cachorro (1996), MY FIRST NIGHT (1998), shown at the Montreal World Film Festival, MANOLITO GAFOTAS (1999), ATAQUE VERBAL (2000) and TEN DAYS WITHOUT LOVE (2001).
