SANT'EGIDIO
Based in the Trastevere district of Rome, the Catholic community of Sant'Edigio, in addition to its usual charity work, is involved in diplomatic activities which are now recognized worldwide. This film documents Sant'Edigio's work for the peace talks in Burundi under the auspices of Nelson Mandela. To bring adversaries to the negotiation table, to institute a ceasefire in a country that has been at war for the past 40 years -- these are considerable yet modest aims, entirely in the image of peace workers who were the recipients of UNESCO's Houphout-Boigny Peace Prize.

Nico di Biase
Paris-based, Italian-born filmmaker and journalist Nico Di Biase has worked in French television since the beginning of the 1990s, notably on two series, mission impossible and Merci et encore bravo. His films include: Venezia possibile (1993), L'cole de la camorra (1995), Alberto Moravia -- l'homme qui regarde (1999).
