THE LITTLE BIRD BOY
Eleven-year Behrouz, can imitate songbirds perfectly. To help his father, who has financial difficulties, Behrouz hires himself out to a bird hunter. The hunter will either use the boy's voice during hunting or he will hide Behrouz under a big cage in the city and use the boy's voice to sell less valuable birds at higher prices. Enter a little Azerbaijan girl with her mother. The little girl buys a bird that doesn't sing. Noticing that she is sad, Behrouz goes to comfort her with his voice...
Rahbar Ghanbari
Born in rural Iran in 1961, Rahbar Ghanbari moved to Tehran with his family when he was five and after high school took psychology and management courses. After one year he quit to enroll in the Islamic Film Training Centre where he directed his first two short films. He has since written eight screenplays, four television series and directed numerous shorts, most notably The Sound of Soil, which was shown in festivals worldwide. THE LITTLE BIRD BOY marks his debut in features.
