INGMAR BERGMAN; INTERMEZZO
"In November 2001, I had the pleasure to once again meet with Ingmar Bergman. The meeting took place at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, where Bergman was preparing his staging of Ibsen's Ghosts -- in his own translation! His energy and creativity are still intact, even though he is 84 this summer. He still screens all Swedish films in his own theatre in Far, and he is still writing new scripts -- he himself will direct one, Anna, for Swedish television this fall. And he has a lot of plans. It became a conversation with intermezzos and surprises as it touched on current Swedish cinema, Strindberg, the magic of theatre and aging and death." -- Gunnar Bergdahl
