CASOMAI
Tommaso, a Milanese advertising executive, and Stefania, a make-up artist, meet, fall in love and marry. A baby is born. Their love is sincere, passionate and strong. It is a love without secrets. Then other people get involved. Their friends, their relatives, even acquaintances. Everyone wants to "help". But won't this participation, this meddling, finally worm its way into their relationship and end up altering it? Frustrations with work, money problems, an unexpected loneliness, an unwanted second pregnancy. Slowly, their relationship does change. Physical passion gives way to parental fatigue. Like so many other couples, Stefania and Tommaso stop struggling, no longer communicate with each other, fight for no reason. But their marriage may not be hopeless. When love seems to disappear, that doesn't mean that it is gone forever. Often, all it means is that it is stifled, buried under a thousand small problems that may not have anything to do with them."Slick, snappy... this appealing relationship drama coloured with understated observational comedy, examines the toll that friends, family, peer pressures, career and social demands can take on love." -- David Rooney (Variety)

Alessandro D'Alatri
Born in Rome in 1955, Alessandro D'Alatri made his showbusiness debut at the age of eight acting in a production of The Cherry Orchard directed by Luchino Visconti. Before long, he was a veteran, playing roles in the theatre, on television and in the movies. The latter included roles in De Sica's GARDEN OF THE FINZI-CONTINIS and films by Valerio Zurlini and Ettore Scola. He began directing commercials and eventually became one of Italy's top directors of advertising films, earning prizes worldwide. He made his directorial debut in features with AMERICANO ROSSO (1991), which won that year's David di Donatello Prize for best first film in Italy. His 1994 feature, NO SKIN, was shown at the Montreal World Film Festival, and he directed THE GARDEN OF EDEN in 1998.
