THE AGE OF TERROR -- IN THE NAME OF THE REVOLUTION
This film explores the realm of ideological terrorism, tracing the evolution of "red" terror groups from their emergence in Cuba in the 1950s through their European incarnations (the Red Brigades in Italy, the Red Army Faction in Germany). Two atrocities are examined in particular, the assassinations of Hans Martin Schleyer in Germany and Aldo Moro in Italy. The film then follows up Che Guevera's legacy in South America starting with the Shining Path in Peru before moving on to the world's most successful guerrilla army, the Armed Revolutionary Army of Colombia (FARC). It seems that revolutionary terror groups often end up killing the very people they originally intended to liberate.
