Back
THE MOUNTAIN HAWK
Gabriel Nevarez, El Meo and El Ojitos are riddled with bullets by a group of men in the Durango mountains. Rosendo Nevarez earns a living in Mexico City busking and singing on city buses, and when he hears of his brother's death he decides to return to San Miguel de Cruces, where his father, Don Joaqun, and Soledad, Gabriel's widow, still live. Once back home, Rosendo begins discovering aspects of Gabriel's life that he didn't know about. He hears several versions in which Gabriel is pictured as a common criminal and others where he is depicted as some sort of Mexican Robin Hood. Gradually Gabriel Nevarez's story unfolds: he is a rebel, a determined man or an outlaw, a lone man of the mountains...
