JUST A KISS
Dag is a successful commercials director who lives in a trendy loft in SoHo with his girlfriend Halley. Peter is a great hit with the kids as the "peanut butter eagle" in one of Dag's commercials but would much rather be recognized as a serious actor by the critics. Peter's girlfriend Rebecca is a mixed-up ballet dancer and they are all friends until Dag sleeps with Rebecca. Dag knew that it was a bad idea as soon as he kissed her. In fact, he knew it was a bad idea as soon as he broke off his shoot at Euro Disney to go and watch Rebecca dance in Brussels. But Dag just couldn't help it. And so Rebecca calls Halley to break the news to her. And Halley tells Peter. And if this isn't enough to turn their world upside down, there's always Paula to help. A sex-crazed nurse who moonlights as a waitress in a bowling alley, Paula has a mad crush on the "peanut butter eagle" but will gladly settle for the bird's creator. Then Andr, a casual lover of Rebecca's, goes to bed with Halley, and Andr's wife Colleen sticks her amourous oar into the already turbulent waters. Minor catastrophes such as an aircraft crash aren't really necessary to persuade any of the participants that a kiss is never just a kiss and that things would be fine if only they could make a fresh start..."Dark whimsy with a side of regret is the order of the day... in the directing debut of actor Fisher Stevens, who mixes swell ensemble acting with eye-popping animation for a witch's brew of good sex, bad timing and very funny dialogue." -- Ken Eisner (Variety)
