GADA MEILIN
In the history of Mongolia, Gada Meilin holds an honoured place as the man who some seventy years ago, led an uprising of various ethnic groups against the government of the day in order to protect the Mongolian prairie and the way of life of its inhabitants. This is the story of his courageous rebellion."Man enjoys the most freedom when he is one with nature. When he destroys nature for reasons of greed, he loses his own freedom. Gada Meilin and his followers sacrificed their lives in order to protect the prairie. Today, when we are faced with erosion and sandstorms, we should be reminded of them. Gada Meilin is a hero of the Mongolian people and a hero of the Chinese nation as well... When I completed my cycle of films on war and peace I decided that my next series of films would deal with life and the environment. GADA MEILIN is part of that new cycle." -- Feng Xiaoning
