LIVING IN CONFLICT
Israelis and Palestinians explore the complex nature of their existence on opposing sides of the Middle East conflict. Each individual uses art, science, music or poetry as a way of surviving conflict in a region riddled with tensions and violence. These personal stories give voice to the human dimension that is painfully lacking today in the black-and-white reporting of television news. The film begins in the fall of 1999 and features Israeli poet Natan Yonatan, Israeli Palestinian writer Hanna Abu Hanna, young Israeli Palestinian artist Rana Bishara, Iraqi Israeli musician Yair Delal, and Dr. Rose Bilbool, a scientist and survivor of the Holocaust.
