LATIN AMERICAN CINEMA

Montr�al, August 6th 2002. Every year the MWFF presents an important selection of Latin-American films which reveal the dynamism and great vitality of those cinemas. Nearly a half of this selection are first feature films. This year one film from this continent is with thw Official Competition : EL ULTIMO TREN.


Argentina

UN OSO ROJO (RED BEAR) Argentina - France � Spain / 2002 / 35 mm / Couleur / 94 min / Dir. Israel Adr�an Caetano After seven years in prison, Oso finds his wife and young daughter living with an unemployed gambler, and he's determin / Dir.ed to give them a better life even if it means a return to crime.

A young fisherman buries his father and sets off along the Paran� River to find his freedom, but crime and casual violence interrupt his journey.
